How to Memorize Base Stats
Trying to memorize every base stat as six isolated numbers gets noisy fast. It is easier to start with the shape of the spread: bulk, offense, and speed. Once the shape is familiar, the exact numbers become much easier to attach.
Start with the role and stat shape
Look at which stats stand out before worrying about the total. Is the Pokemon physically bulky, specially bulky, offensive, fast, slow, or balanced? That first label gives the numbers somewhere to live in your memory.
After each Base Stats Quiz answer, Poke Dojo shows the stat values and a radar chart. For missed questions, review the chart shape as well as the number you missed.
- Separate HP from Defense and Special Defense to understand bulk
- Compare Attack and Special Attack before memorizing both values
- Treat Speed as fast, mid-speed, or slow first, then learn exact tiers
Compare similar Pokemon
If a single Pokemon will not stick, compare it with a similar one. Questions like 'which one is faster?' or 'which one has better physical bulk?' turn raw numbers into useful battle knowledge.
Use rankings and search tools to place missed Pokemon next to others in the same stat range. A small comparison set is usually more memorable than a long isolated list.
Review the reason for each miss
When you miss a question, write the reason in your head: faster than expected, bulkier on the special side, mixed up Attack and Special Attack, and so on. That reason is the thing to correct next time.
You do not need to master every stat at once. Practice one lens at a time, such as Speed today and bulk tomorrow, so each short session has a clear target.
